My Dad, my cousin, my pastor, my Underwater Welding Instructor, and some friends make up my list of who I admire. Strangely enough, they are all mostly ex-military, and they all have character, courage, and strength.
My Code of Ethics:
“Be Strong and courageous, and be strong enough to know when to be gentle. Be man enough to admit when you are wrong, and always learn from your mistakes. Do not whine; do not be lazy, and do not quit. Bend but never break. Other people depend on you, so get over yourself. Enjoy life, but never live for its pleasures. Power without wisdom is reckless. A weapon can be wielded by the hero or the monster. Strength without intelligence can always be outmaneuvered. Intelligence without strength is stupidity. No intelligence and no strength is childish. If at first you don’t succeed, rethink your plans and try again. If you escape death on the first attempt, you were given a chance to try again. Never jump into the water if you do not know what is below the surface.
Love means putting others before self. Your mother ripped her body and her world apart, bringing you into it. Your father hasn’t slept well since he found out he was responsible for a tiny human. Appreciate them both.
Love your woman with fearless passion. Romance is for Women, so Men can choose to be romantic or single. The hero sacrifices the woman for the world; the beast burns down the world for the woman.
