The following is from a Philosophy assignment using analogies

In deep-sea diving, there are just bad days, when everything is just a complete mess. You are at the bottom of the ocean, in a mud hole with no visibility, trying to put a pipeline together by feel. You can’t see anything; there are tools and equipment that you keep mistaking for an asset you are supposed to be working on. Your hose is fouled, your hat is dripping water, and ruining your emotional fortitude. The hole you are in keeps filling with mud you had previously excavated, but now you find out there isn’t enough room for you to work.
This is pretty accurate to what a bad dive is like; these things happen. Not next week, or next month, but it will happen. My supervisor on the Radio said I hadn’t a clue what I was doing, and that I was just a Big ole “Soup-Sandwich.” Needless to say, my argument in reply is not fit for typing here.
The next morning, sitting at the galley table with the fellow divers, someone was literally eating two pieces of French Toast like a sandwich, dripping maple syrup they had added (Yes, we were low on groceries). Someone said, “Like a soup sandwich.” Hearing those words while staring at that messy breakfast made it all make sense. Sometimes life is just like trying to eat a big ole nasty mess of a “Soup-Sandwich,” and all you can do is take a bite!
Be Blessed!

Those are the greatest opportunities presented by Jesus to press deep into His robe…press into hard things that bring us desperate and broken deeper into the heart of our Savior.
